David A. Williamson is one of the sought after Health and Professionals in North America with over twenty years’ experience. David has always been known for his leadership in providing solutions to clients’ needs, which is one of the driving forces behind the SDI Group.

David began his career in Edmonton instructing WHMIS and further developed his skills in Fort St. John, B.C., working for Texaco Canada. In 1999, after working as a regional and corporate manager, David founded the SDI Group.

SDI Group started small, conducting COR audits and training, but quickly grew to managing several companies that covered all aspects of a Health and Safety Management System. David completed the Health and Safety certificate program in 2003.

In 2005, David sat on the Canadian Society of Safety Engineers’ executive to support the profession. David continued by writing and receiving the Canadian Registered Safety Professional designation in 2005. In 2009, David received his Certified Health and Safety Consultant designation. In 2010, David was elected as President of the Town of Tofield’s Chamber of Commerce, where he served until 2014. In 2011, David was named to the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals as a governor. The Board represents the highest designation a Health and Safety Professional can achieve. David currently sits on the BCRSP National Education Symposium and is an BCRSP Ambassador to new CRSP’s.

David has worked extensively in the Education, Farming, Municipal, Manufacturing, Construction and Oil and Gas sectors. David’s communication skills show clients how powerful and well-developed Health, Safety Management Systems can enhance a business model. David’s vision in providing solutions for SDI Group clients has made him a trusted resource for any organization needing non-traditional solutions to achieve Health, Safety and Quality excellence. David is also a sought-after speaker and educator, speaking and teaching at many events throughout Western Canada.

David has many passions in life. David is a Provincial B Soccer coach and enjoys working with young entrepreneurs to develop their visions of success.




Vice President of Operations

Cheryl is the SDI Group Project Manager and has been the team’s engine since day one. Cheryl graduated from the NAIT Occupational Health and Safety Diploma Program in April 2010 and is working toward her CRSP designation. Cheryl manages the team’s valued client partnerships to ensure the highest quality of service.

Cheryl is also an external auditor and trainer for the SDI Group, along with managing several of our client contractor databases. Cheryl is also an internal ISO auditor and provides consultation to many of our clients based on her expertise in health, safety, and quality along with her extensive knowledge of occupational hygiene.




Manager of Occupational Screening and Information Technologies

Having graduated with her Computer Information Systems diploma, majoring in Software Design, Geneva first found her place here at SDI as an admin assistant, and quickly became our office manager in 2014.

In 2015, she became a certified DOT Specimen Collector and Breathe Alcohol Technician.  Then in 2016 she climbed up the ladder again by becoming a certified DOT Technician Instructor, and is currently head of the SDI Health Drug & Alcohol Testing division.

Geneva also manages the team’s technology flow, from our online courses to website interaction with valued clients.

During the week you can find her at the SDI Group office, working with the team members, helping ensure our clients are happy and get the individualized attention they deserve.




Health and Safety Consultant – Audiometric Technician

Ashley graduated from the NAIT Occupational Health and Safety Diploma Program in April 2014. She initially started with the team as a co-op student in April 2013, and is now a full time health and safety consultant. She manages clients in the municipal industry, manufacturing industry, continuing care industry, and others.

Ashley has obtained her certification for audiometric testing.  Ashley is also an active COR auditor for both AMHSA (Alberta Municipal Health and Safety Association) and CCSA (Continuing Care Safety Association). Ashley has experience in occupational hygiene testing, managing contractor databases, and auditing.

Ashley played a key role in the development of our online WHMIS refresher course and GHS WHMIS 2015 course, as well as other courses for the SDI Team.




Health and Safety Consultant – Audiometric Technician

Tiara started with the SDI Group in December 2014 and is a graduate of the Occupational Health and Safety Diploma Program at NAIT. She manages client types from pre-cast concrete all the way to municipalities. She has obtained her Audiometric Technician Certificate as well as her Drug and Alcohol Technician Certificate.

Currently, Tiara is a certified internal/external auditor for the Manufacturers’ Health and Safety Association as well as the Alberta Food Processors Association. Prior to obtaining her Health and Safety Diploma she received her Emergency Medical Responder Certificate and Pre-Business Certificate. 




Health and Safety Consultant

Blair graduated from the NAIT Occupational Health and Safety Diploma Program in April 2018. Blair began his safety career with SDI Group April 2017, working as a summer Co-Op- student, then part time while completing his last year of schooling, until starting full time as an HSE Technician as a graduate of the program with Honors.

Prior to beginning his studies, Blair achieved his Journeyman Carpentry Certificate in 2011, and then later obtained his NCSO (National Construction Safety Officer) certificate in 2014. Furthermore, Blair has also obtained his Drug and Alcohol Technician Certificate in 2017. His experience in commercial construction has reassured his aspirations in the health and safety industry with the goal of providing a healthy and safe work environment for everyone.




Health and Safety Co-op Student

Breiana has recently completed her first year in the Occupational Health and Safety Diploma Program at NAIT. In her previous semester, she obtained certifications in WHMIS, CSTS, TDG, H2S Alive, and First Aid. Breiana’s passion for safety first developed as child, after seeing her father injure himself countless times on the job. This created her dedication in pursuing a career in the health and safety industry. In her down time, Breiana enjoys spending quality time with her family and two puppies.




Health and Safety Consultant

Yolanda began her full-time safety career with SDI Group as a Health and Safety Consultant in August 2018. Yolanda graduated from the NAIT Occupational Health and Safety Diploma Program in April 2018 and is working toward her Canadian Registered Safety Technician (CRST) Certification and Alberta Construction Safety Association (ACSA) COR auditor certification. Prior to joining the SDI Group, Yolanda had obtained PortaCount Respirator Fit Testing and VeriPRO Hearing Protection Fit Testing Certificate in 2017. She has experience in occupation hygiene testing, COR auditing, and National Safety Code (NSC) compliance Training. Yolanda was honored CSSE (Canadian Society of Safety Engineering) membership due to her academic achievement and engagement at NAIT.

Prior to beginning her studies, Yolanda achieved her Pharmacology Master’s Degree in China in 2006.

Having been involved in public speaking over 20 years, Jenny is recognized as an engaging presenter, mixing confidence with vulnerability. She shares relevant and meaningful lessons from her personal experiences as a businesswoman, wife, mother, step-mother and grandmother, as well as her struggles with being a survivor of abuse and the pain of losing a child.

The International Humanitarian Society has benefited from Jenny’s leadership as President for 15 years. Her passion for humanitarian work extends beyond her role at IHS, with her desire to see people reach physical, emotional, and spiritual health being at the core of her many endeavors.

In 2007, Jenny completed her Masters of Divinity Degree at Taylor University, with a major in Pastoral Counseling. In her role as counselor she has helped clients navigate a wide variety of issues like family violence, divorce, loss, depression, abuse, and much more. She has also engaged in a preventive role as a pre-marriage counselor, helping to establish healthy communication in couples before they take the next step.

Jenny’s focus is on teaching people to treat both themselves and others better.   She says, “How you treat other people is a lens that reflects how you see yourself.”
